Pumpkin Spice Martini

I know what you’re thinking… not another pumpkin spice recipe. But trust me, this Pumpkin Spice Martini is anything but ordinary. It’s like drinking a piece of pumpkin pie and I am obsessed with it! It’s creamy, with warm spices, and just a hint of pumpkin flavor– topped it off with homemade whipped cream for the perfect fall dessert cocktail.

Ingredients & Substitutions

Pumpkin Spice Irish cream

Pumpkin Spice Irish Cream can be found in most liquor stores during the fall. It’s smooth and creamy with just a bit of warm spice and pumpkin flavor. If you can’t find it, don’t worry– you can combine 1.5 oz of regular Irish cream with 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice.

frangelico

Frangelico is a hazelnut flavored liqueur from Italy. It’s dark and nutty and helps emphasize the earthiness of the pumpkin. If you can’t find Frangelico, you can substitute Amaretto.

kahlua

Kahlua is a coffee flavored liqueur. I love adding it to my evening cocktails because it reminds me of an after dinner espresso– just without the caffeine! The coffee flavor helps add that Pumpkin Spice Latte quality to the drink. If you don’t have Kahlua, you can substitute plain coffee/espresso or a chocolate liqueur like creme de cacao.

rumchata

Rumchata is a cream liqueur that resembles a boozy version of Horchata. It has strong flavors of cinnamon and vanilla and it really helps emphasize the warm spices in the drink. The best way I’ve heard Rumchata described is as a drinkable Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Unfortunately there is no good substitution for Rumchata– but trust me, you’ll drink it!

milk

The milk helps to add a creaminess and cut the alcohol in the drink. You can substitute any milk (including non-dairy)– or substitute half-and-half or cream for added richness.

How to make a pumpkin Spice Martini

Step one: Combine all of the ingredients in a shaker

Add all of the ingredients to a shaker (or small jar) filled with ice. Shake for 30 seconds.

step two: Rim your glass

Fill a small bowl with milk and another small bowl with crushed graham crackers. Dip the glass into the milk followed by the graham crackers.

Step three: Strain & Serve

Strain through a fine mess sieve into the rimmed martini glass. Serve immediately.
